📮 Tensor Ventures — Decoded Newsletter December 2025 Edition: A Year of Deep Tech Breakthroughs and Growth
As we close out 2025, we reflect on a year that reinforced Europe’s position as a global force in deep tech innovation. Across our portfolio, we saw companies reach historic milestones, secure meaningful funding, and form partnerships that will shape their industries for years to come.
At Tensor Ventures, 2025 was defined by execution: disciplined investing, tangible outcomes, and growing momentum across the deep tech ecosystem.
Investment Activity
Throughout the year, we deployed capital across our funds with a clear focus on foundational technologies and critical infrastructure. Our investments targeted companies solving hard, systemic problems across AI, quantum computing, and next-generation infrastructure, areas where long-term value creation matters more than short-term hype.
Each new investment reflected our core thesis: backing exceptional technical teams with global ambition, and supporting them through the earliest and most challenging phases of company building.

Exit Activity
2025 also marked an important milestone for Tensor Ventures with a successful portfolio exit.
In August, Quantagonia, a German quantum computing software startup, was acquired by Strangeworks, a U.S.-based leader in quantum and high-performance computing software. The acquisition, completed less than two years after our investment in Quantagonia’s €3.3M round in 2023, represents a strong outcome for our fund and validates our early conviction in the company’s technology and team.
This exit is particularly meaningful as it underscores the global relevance of deep-tech innovation emerging from Central Europe. It also reinforces our long-standing focus on quantum technologies, an area where commercial adoption is now accelerating.
Beyond financial return, the acquisition enables Quantagonia’s technology to scale to a broader enterprise audience worldwide, amplifying its real-world impact. While Quantagonia was the headline exit of 2025, we see several other portfolio companies progressing toward similarly transformative outcomes.
Building for the Long Term
As we look ahead, Tensor Ventures enters 2026 with a stronger team, deeper networks, and an increasingly global footprint. Over the past year, we expanded our capabilities to better support founders post-investment, from strategic guidance to international partnerships and follow-on capital.
The achievements of 2025: new investments, portfolio growth, a successful exit, and team expansion; have laid a solid foundation for the years ahead.
We extend our sincere gratitude to our portfolio founders, limited partners, co-investors, partners and the broader deep tech community. Your ambition, resilience, and commitment are turning fundamental research into technologies that address some of the world’s most complex challenges.
As we head into the holiday season and prepare for 2026, we are energized by what lies ahead. Europe’s deep tech ecosystem has never been stronger, and we are proud to support the scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs building its future.
Wishing you a restful holiday season and a successful year ahead. 🎁
Cheers,
Tensor Team
